Discovery Trail

Planted pathways wind through lush gardens, marshes, and scrubland, where red pandas, otters, prairie dogs, and kangaroos live. Young trailblazers can experience firsthand various types of animal habitats, locomotion, and senses.

Kangaroo

Western Gray Kangaroo

Australia’s most famous animal resident is part of the family group with a scientific name that translates to “big-foot.” That describes these champion jumpers to a T. Western gray kangaroos can bound up to 30 feet, and can reach speed up to 30 miles per hour! Their long, thick tails help them balance as they go.

Sea Lion Feeding

Sea Lion Feedings

At the heart of the park, bark hello to California sea lions and meet their keepers. Whether they’re high-fiving their keepers, showing off their dives, or catching fish on the fly, Stella, Alexis, and Beebe love to impress a crowd. Stop by for one of the three daily feeding demonstrations.
